Who We Are
A SENSE OF PURPOSE: empowered to reinvest into the business
Privately-owned, and owner-managed, Kallvest is able to re-invest back into growing the business without having to pay dividends to shareholders. But this does not mean we are cowboys: an empowered board of directors, structured in complete accordance with King III, ensures that the business is run along sustainable, ethical business practices. After all, we are in it for the long-term.
Broad-Based Empowerment is a Moral Imperative
We love South Africa, and we want to see it work. We are driven by the need, both ethically and morally, to contribute to a meaningful, structural change within our sector. Our approach is based on the seven elements of the B-BBEE scorecard, and we are a SANAS accredited Level Four contributor.
Our success is based squarely upon an effective transfer of skills; utilising both government-funded programs and private resources. Our employees are not merely governed by gazetted wage structures but are partners and stakeholders within the company.
Meaningful investments back into the community
Kallvest believes in giving back: every year we sponsor select Non-Profit Organisations, and individuals, through donations of time and money.
We choose our sponsorships carefully, and look at the track record, management and legitimacy of the organisation, together with the impact that they are having on the community. We have invested in sponsoring both The Association for the Blind and Centres for the Aged.
On-going professional development keeps us ahead of the game
At Kallvest, we uphold a firm policy of post-qualification training to ensure discipline, competencies, regulations and training outcomes in terms of Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA).
We are Sector Education and Training Authority (SASSETA) accredited trainers and all our courses are NQF compliant.
Not only are our guards trained, but our clients are too! We know that knowledge is power – and want our clients to be completely empowered.
We offer self-defence primers to our residential clients. For our commercial clients, a clear set of mutual roles and responsibilities ensures that everyone knows what is expected from them, and there is no room for confusion in times of emergency.
We look after our people, so they look after you
Our proudly South African staff are handpicked for both their skills and their potential. We invest in growing our people, and are proud that we have managers who were once guards – and through hard work and honest effort have grown up the ranks.
The links between performance and reward are clear. Documented records of performance ensure tangible rewards to staff that realise the importance of compliance to our strict operating parameters. This results in exceptionally motivated, loyal and committed people.
Security is our business, and we run it like a business
What sets us apart is our clear operating system. Our procedures govern our operations and not only ensure that we comply with all aspects of the law, but make sure we live our values in everything we do.
Our Quality Service Department runs separately from operations and reports directly to the Board of Directors. Just to make sure we are delivering on our promises we drop in when least expected: on-going random checks keep us and our people honest. We also deliver full monthly activity reports.
Cleaning is our expertise, quality control you can count on
Like all our operations, our cleaning division has stringent quality control and clear systems. We follow all the regulations of the Safety, Health and Environmental Act (S.H.E), making sure your space is both safe and hygienic.
It is very clear what is expected of us and our people. Comprehensive job descriptions and processes are defined in partnership with our clients, making sure we meet the requirements and expectations.
